Artificial Intelligence: a driver of transformation in services for the nuclear industry
Artificial Intelligence: a driver of transformation in services for the nuclear industry
On February 5 and 6, the CERAP Group, in partnership with the IUT Grand Ouest Normandie in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, organized a forum dedicated to Artificial Intelligence: a driver of transformation in services for the nuclear industry. This event brought together experts, researchers, and industry professionals to discuss the opportunities that AI offers in this strategic sector. From Emmanuelle Galichet, Research Professor in Nuclear Science and Technology and President of WiN France, to Luigi Serio, AI Project Manager at CERN, as well as Josquin Vernon, Project Officer for Nuclear Sector Development at DINN (Interministerial Delegation for New Nuclear), and Frédéric Jurie, Professor at the University of Caen Normandy and Chair in AI, participants had the opportunity to explore a rich diversity of knowledge and experiences. The two roundtable discussions gave the floor to companies that actively integrate AI into the Normandy nuclear industrial sector. Representatives from key industry players—Virginie Thiébaut, Head of the PRISME Department at EDF; Christophe Leclerc, Data Officer for ORANO's Recycling Business Unit; David Raveau, Head of Innovation at NAVAL GROUP Cherbourg; and Thtreswar Beeharry, Head of R&D Innovation at CMN—shared insights into the development prospects of AI within their respective organizations. This high-level exchange was further enriched by a security and risk prevention perspective, thanks to the insights of Eric Hazane, Digital Security Delegate for Normandy at ANSSI (French National Cybersecurity Agency). The event aimed to be as informative as possible, also highlighting concrete examples of AI integration in industrial applications. Iliès Zaoui, founder and CEO of Conscience Robotics, explained how AI is embedded into his robots, some of which are designed to operate in nuclear zones. Vincent Auvray and Nicolas Leconte, respectively President and Marketing & Commercial Director of FASTPOINT, introduced Securi’Spot, a module designed to prevent workplace accidents and influence safety behaviors. On behalf of DEVOLIS, David Moreau, Operations Director, and Maxime Michelier, AI Technical Leader, presented their generative AI model aimed at optimizing the management of technical reports. In conclusion, Fabrice Quemener, CEO of CERAP Group, hinted that this successful first edition is unlikely to be the last—a sentiment that was widely shared (and voiced) by all participants.

CERAP Switzerland signs a new partnership for HSE activities at CERN
We are proud to announce the signing of a new partnership between CERAP Switzerland and CERN in the fields of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) supervision and Safety and Health Protection Coordination.Focus on Safety and Health Protection CoordinationSafety and Health Protection Coordination is implemented on construction or civil engineering sites where multiple companies or independent workers operate. It also applies to subcontractors working on-site. Its role is to prevent risks arising from simultaneous or successive interventions and to plan the use of shared resources such as infrastructure, logistics, and collective protective measures. This project will enable CERAP Switzerland to strengthen its on-site presence by ensuring a high level of safety and compliance for its long-standing client. This new collaboration reflects our ongoing commitment to providing safe working environments that meet the highest HSE standards.
