Gabriel Dupont, a research engineer at ATRON Metrology, has been awarded the 1st prize in the Young Professional Scientist Award in Radiation Protection at the International Congress of the International Radiation Protection Association (IRPA).
After winning the Henri Jammet Prize at the National Congress of the French Society for Radiation Protection (SFRP) in June 2023, Gabriel Dupont has now been honored with the 1st prize in the Young Professional Scientist Award in Radiation Protection at the 16th IRPA International Congress, held in Orlando, USA, from July 7 to 12, 2024.
Created to encourage young scientists and professionals to engage in research across all areas of radiation protection, the Young Professional Scientist Award recognizes the best presentation by a researcher under 35 years old, with less than 10 years of experience in the field. The award is granted based on the scientific quality of the research, the written paper, and the oral presentation at the congress.
Among 17 candidates, all officially nominated by a regional or national society affiliated with IRPA, Gabriel Dupont won the 1st prize for his work on calibrating radiation protection instruments without using a radioactive source, conducted within ATRON Metrology.
This prestigious award is a remarkable recognition of his work by the global radiation protection community—a true source of pride for ATRON Metrology and CERAP.
